Surge Institute has entered into a new partnership with LEE, a civic leadership development organization. LEE will provide Surge alumni with complimentary access to tools, training, and resources to drive civic change in their communities by running for elected office or by growing their impact through advocacy or a career in policy.
“Every day, Surge alumni are transforming schools, organizations, and communities,” says José M. Andre Iniguez, Vice President, Alumni Impact at Surge. “Many are already serving on boards, advising decision-makers, and even holding elected or appointed office. Imagine what becomes possible when even more of those same leaders are equipped to influence the policies and decisions that shape those communities for generations to come.”
“Our partnership with LEE is an investment in the collective power of our alumni, providing pathways to advocacy, policy, and public leadership so they can continue opening doors not just for individuals, but for entire communities.”
A LEE membership for Surge alumni provides civic leadership supports, including:
- Access to digital courses and virtual workshops.
- One-on-one civic leadership and career coaching.
- Expert candidate and campaign supports.
- Curated, evidence-based policy research.
- LEE-exclusive jobs board for roles in the civic sector.
- Cohort-based experiences and fellowships.
- A national network of more than 70,000 members working in education, advocacy, organizing, and public leadership.
LEE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering diverse leaders to drive change in their communities. This partnership also reflects Surge’s shared belief that strong communities are built by people who are committed, informed, and supported.
Surge alumni are encouraged to sign up to activate their LEE membership and start accessing these powerful resources. (And alumni are reminded to complete Surge’s annual survey before the deadline!)
