We did the work. And now the world can see it.

Surge Institute has officially earned the 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, the highest nonprofit accountability recognition in the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. nonprofits hold this designation.

What This Means

Transparency is not a checkbox. It is a covenant. And the inner workings of our organization are now publicly accessible, including our finances, operations, strategic goals, and more.

Therefore, current and future donors and partners, as well as our alumni, can see–with renewed confidence–how we faithfully carry out Surge’s mission: To educate and develop leaders of color who create transformative change for young people, their families, and our broader communities.

In other words, this seal confirms what our community has always known: Surge is accountable, strategic, and impact-driven.

The Platinum Seal unlocks access to more than 78,000 funders, major donor-advised funds, and 200-plus charitable platforms, accelerating the potential for partnerships that power our mission and fuel our impact.
