Held on May 12, the #LeadTheSurge Chicago event was a testament to the strength, love, and connectedness of the Surge Institute community. More than 200 alumni, partners, and supporters from across the city turned out to raise awareness and funds for Surge programs. 

The way Surge celebrates education leaders dedicated to liberating Black and Brown communities is unlike anything else.

The love and care put into this event were palpable, and it was evident that all of the new faces and prospective alums in the room felt it. This was Surge’s largest-ever recruitment event, and it has set the tone for the momentum we continue to build.
