On January 19, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., not with silence, but with the thunder of continued movement.
Dr. King understood something we carry forward every single day: educational justice is the battleground where freedom is won or lost. He knew that proximity to power, clarity of purpose, and collective strength would determine whether our children inherit opportunity or oppression.
We stand on his shoulders, and we refuse to rest.
We build the systems that Dr. King envisioned but didn't live to see completed. That is powerful.
The movement continues through us.
At Surge, we transform educational leadership because we know the classroom is where revolution begins. Every principal we develop, every teacher we empower, every community we strengthen is a direct answer to Dr. King's call for a beloved community.
Today, we remember. Tomorrow, we rise again. But right now, in this moment, we recommit to the work that matters most: developing fearless Black and Brown educational leaders who will shape the future Dr. King dreamed of, and our children deserve.
His dream lives in our action. His legacy lives in our leadership.
The Surge continues.
In solidarity and service,
The Surge Team
